Version 5.9.4

Released on 2024-11-27.

Note

If you are upgrading a cluster, you must be running CrateDB 4.0.2 or higher before you upgrade to 5.9.4.

We recommend that you upgrade to the latest 5.8 release before moving to 5.9.4.

A rolling upgrade from 5.8.x to 5.9.4 is supported.

Before upgrading, you should back up your data.

Warning

Tables that were created before CrateDB 4.x will not function with 5.x and must be recreated before moving to 5.x.x.

You can recreate tables using COPY TO and COPY FROM or by inserting the data into a new table.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue leading to an error when running ANALYZE followed by a correlated subquery with the Subquery being an INNER JOIN and a table on the right side having more records than a table on the left side.

  • Fixed an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException that happened when using SET LOCAL <settingName> TO DEFAULT.

  • Fixed an issue that caused incorrect result when comparing values of type geo_shape defined as object literals and one being a geometry collection and another MultiPolygon or MultiPoint. Example of the query that used to return false instead of true:

    SELECT
     {
       type='MultiPoint',
       coordinates=[[10, 40], [40, 30]]
     }::GEO_SHAPE
      =
     {
       type='GeometryCollection',
       geometries=[{type='Point', coordinates=[10, 40]}, {type='Point', coordinates=[40, 30]}]
     }::GEO_SHAPE;

  • Fixed an issue on the PostgreSQL wire protocol that may cause the node to crash with OutOfMemory exceptions when a client sends a invalid (or huge) startup message.
