 Last updated: July 18th, 2024

We are an open-source organization at our core and we welcome contributions from our community. Connect with us via GitHub and submit feedback for our documentation, bugs, issues and feature requests.

Upvoting and reporting issues

Thank you for your interest in contributing. Don't worry about getting everything perfect. We are happy to work with you on your contribution. , , or  about your experience are the easiest ways to contribute. You can find more on that in our guideline on . If you'd like to just give us a star, we would also welcome that.

Contributor License Agreement

We appreciate your ideas and help. Before we can accept any pull requests, we need you to agree to our Contibutor Licence Agreement (CLA). All contributors of CrateDB must sign a CLA. That's how we assure the users of CrateDB about the origin and continuing existence of the code. You only need to sign the CLA once. We are not asking you to give us your copyright, but we need to get your approval to distribute your code and potentially relicense without restriction.

  • If you are contributing as an individual, you must sign an Individual Contributor License Agreement ().
  • If you are contributing as an employee of a company and the company wants to allow you to contribute your work, then the representative of your company must sign a Corporate Contributor License Agreement ().
Note: A CCLA does not remove the need for you to sign your own ICLA as an individual, to cover both contributions which are owned and those that are not owned by the company signing the CCLA.

Contributor Code

Once the relevant CLA is signed is complete, please create an issue on GitHub to let us know that you're working on the issue. More details on how to contribute can be found in the  on GitHub. If you have any questions, please reach out via any of our support channels.

Tell us about your experience

You don't have to create a detailed bug report or request a new feature to make a valuable contribution. Giving us feedback about your experience with CrateDB is incredibly valuable as well. Please get in touch with us to tell us what you like and don't like about CrateDB.
