CrateDB Community Day
About Community Day
After the first edition of CrateDB Community Day, our team came back to share knowledge, connect with developers worldwide, and present new use cases! This second edition did last 1 hour and was all about maximizing data potential and unlocking data insights through the power of integrations.
Our team brought some amazing partners for several talks and to answer your questions: Metabase, Kooky, and Apache Flink. Check the agenda to learn more about each talk.
Agenda
Speakers:
- Marija Selaković - Developer Advocate Crate.io
- Rafaela Sant'ana - Developer Advocate Intern Crate.io
Luis Paolini will provide a brief introduction to Metabase and its capabilities, and discuss its data visualization features and functionality. The session will then explore how Metabase can be connected with CrateDB and the additional possibilities this integration provides.
Speaker: Luis Paolini , Success Engineer, Metabase
In this talk, Dmytro and Kostyantyn will introduce their use case with CrateDB and how it helped them analyse and get insights form large amount of data. During this session, they will also illustrate how CrateDB fits their toolchain and how they integrate it with existing open-source tools.
Speakers:
- Dmytro Boguslavskyy, CTO & Co-Founder, Kooky
- Kostyantyn Lyuty, Head of Engineering, Kooky
An instant world requires instant decisions at scale, this includes the ability to digest and react to changes in real-time. Event logs such as Apache Kafka can be found in almost every architecture, while databases and similar systems still provide the foundation. Change Data Capture (CDC) has become popular for propagating changes.
In this talk, our guest speaker Timo highlights what it means for Apache Flink to be a general stream processor for all these applications. After discussing the building blocks required to build stream processing applications, you'll learn more about Apache Flink and Flink SQL.
Speaker: Timo Walther, Principal Software Engineer, Apache Flink
With Apache Flink you can process data streams at a large scale from various data sources. In this talk Marios will show how to integrate Apache Flink with CrateDB and how to use CrateDB as a source or sink for an example use case.
Speaker: Marios Trivyzas, Senior Software Engineer, Crate.io
Speakers:
- Marija Selaković - Developer Advocate Crate.io
- Rafaela Sant'ana - Developer Advocate Intern Crate.io
